Kinetic Installation
An aircraft seat is an object precisely designed around efficiency, weight, and safety. I also see it as a position already prepared for the body. When sitting in it, the body seems to be in a safe and stable state, yet it is also placed, limited, and managed by the seat, the rules, and the flight system.
The shaking devices behind the seat are like a group of small systems that keep running. Mostly hidden behind the seat, they continuously produce sound, like the uncertain factors in everyday life that may not be clearly seen or understood, but still affect the body. They also remind me of the small deviations, movements, and instabilities that always exist behind systems that appear reliable.
Borrowing from the state of waiting within aviation systems, this work considers how people coexist with ongoing uncertainty inside systems that seem safe and stable.
