Material: paper pulp, wood, digital image
Passages from the Heart Sutra were copied daily onto receipts, tickets, and other discarded papers collected from everyday life. After a month of repetition, these writings were pulped and transformed into a wooden fish, a traditional Buddhist ritual instrument.
Through acts of writing, destruction, and reconstruction, the work reflects on impermanence and the continuous transformation of material, memory, and belief.
