Material: 450 cigarette butts
Through the collection and photographing of 450 discarded cigarette butts found across London, the work considers how a small and overlooked object can connect individual traces to larger social, environmental, and urban narratives. Each cigarette butt carries evidence of a specific encounter, while collectively they form a portrait of the city from which they were gathered.
